My New Bag

Ok, so I got my new brochure bag in from the happydance boutique. It is awesome!! I can't say enough about the look and the quality of the bag. I can't wait to start using it and see what kind of reaction I get to it. I chose a very simple bag that would go with almost anything, beige background with a small fleur delis design in dark chocolate tones. Very elegant looking for serving such a great purpose.
Anyway, I promised I would keep you posted on the bag and I will. As soon as I get feedback, I will post more.

Papermart shrink bags

You really do get what you pay for in this instance. I bought a cheap made bag and ended up hating it. I placed my order with papermart.com and ordered some of their bags. Those came a few days ago and what a difference! You can see the difference without even touching the bag itself. They not only look better, but they shrink tighter and they hold up longer after cooling down. The one I did on Friday looks as good today as it did when I finished it.
So, saving money is good but getting a good deal is better. Try papermart for your bags. You may have to buy in bulk but the quality is so much better.

Some links for getting basket making supplies

I promised some links that I found to be helpful when it came time to start making up some gift baskets for re-sale or gifts. Most of the sites I found sell basically assuming that you are going to be mass producing these baskets. However, I did find a few that will sell smaller quantities and they don't really have a minimum order total either. Those are the ones I will share with you today. The first one is at http://www.papermart.com I found lots of great deals there. Also, try http://www.artisticgiftbaskets.com for buying even smaller quantities. Then last but not least try http://www.creativegiftpackaging.com for some really good products and lots of ideas too.
I have found the local Dollar Trees carry a good many things as well. If you don't find what you need in one be sure to try another. They do not all carry the same things at the same time.
Also, don't overlook youtube for getting ideas for basket making and any other type of handicraft you like. It has been a wealth of inspiration for me from time to time.
I hope you find these links helpful and don't forget I am as close as your fingertips if you should need me. Find me here http://www.youravon.com/bcallahan or at bcallahan-isr@bellsouth.net because I would love to be your Avon lady!
Till next time. Have a lovely day

Happydance!

One of the newest sites I have found while searching for help in the Avon business is the one called Happydance. Find it at http://www.yourhappydance.com/ and you will find all sorts of help and ideas. They also have a boutique where they sell a few tools that you might not be able to find elsewhere. I personally fell in love with the brochure bags and had to have at least one. I may end up with another one before it's all said and done, but this one is on the way! I can't wait.
I will post with the results once I get it here and try it out.
I have also found the local Dollar Tree to be a great source of odds and ends for getting started. I love the little postit notes they sell. Not like the plain yellow or blue ones, but the pretty ones. I read somewhere that customers like the idea of a handwritten note left inside their brochures and these postit notes really stand out.
In my next post I hope to share a few links for companies that I have found to be helpful with getting supplies for doing gift baskets for customers. It can get pretty expensive if you go to the wrong source, so I hope this information will be of help to you.
Till next time
Take Care
And remember you can find me at http://www.youravon.com/bcallahan to buy or sell Avon!

Getting my Avon business off the ground...

I didn't realize when I went to meet with my District Manager a few weeks ago that signing up to sell Avon was going to be so fast and so easy. It really does take only an hour or so to get started and $10.00. But, here I am three weeks later, and it is really starting to come together for me. I like the fact that you can find so many people to share ideas and experiences with in this business.

My first campaign was basically just to get my feet wet. I have worked more on the second one, and even though I don't have a lot in sales, I do see a lot more interest than I had anticipated at first. I really thought this might just be a good way to get in on being able to buy my own products and family gifts at a discount. After a lot of thought and research though, I have decided that I really can make a go of this, and you can too!

I will use this area just to blog a little about life out there on the streets so to speak, in the land of selling Avon. Please check in often and say hello. Also, if you want to know more about selling Avon go to my site at http://www.youravon.com/bcallahan and click on the "Become a Representative" link. It's so very easy and there is no long term contract or anything like that.

You can also buy your own products from my site if you like. Just be sure to email me so I can send you a code to use to get free shipping if you aren't in the James Island, Folly Beach, Charleston, or West Ashley areas. My email is at bcallahan-isr@bellsouth.net.

Take care and have a fabulous day!
